Adult Pet Care
The staff at Valleydale Animal Clinic knows that your adult pet is a special part of your family. We look forward to working with you to develop a plan to keep your pet happy and healthy for many years to come.
Adult pets need to see the veterinarian at least once a year for vaccines and a general health check. Vaccinations are an important part of taking care of your adult pet. A proper vaccination schedule will ensure that your pet and your family are protected against diseases that can be life threatening.
Diet and Exercise
Keeping fit and maintaining a healthy weight are important aspects of the care of adult pets. Our veterinarians will work with you to make sure that your pet is getting the nutrition he or she needs while maintaining a healthy weight. Remember that exercise is an important part of your pet’s well-being.
An active adult dog needs to get outside and exercise at least once every day. Consider making this time for both of you to get some exercise. Take your dog for a walk around the neighborhood or for a play date at the local dog park. You will both feel better, and improve your relationship, while you improve your health.
Diet and exercise are important for cats too. Even the laziest adult cat can usually be talked into a game of “catch the laser” or “chase the mouse toy.”
The Annual Veterinary Exam
During your pets yearly health check your veterinarian will do a complete physical exam. He will check for internal and external parasites, listen to heart and lungs, and administer yearly vaccines. Don’t let this important appointment get lost in the shuffle. Preventing problems is much easier and less expensive than fixing them once they start.
