Internal Medicine: An Eternal Practice at Valleydale Animal Clinic
Diagnosing and treating issues associated with the various internal systems of your pet is serious business. Our veterinarians have the technology and expertise to determine what is going wrong with your pet’s gastrointestinal tract, reproductive system, cardiovascular system, and endocrine system.
Valleydale Animal Clinic veterinarians also have the tools and training needed to devise the best possible treatment plan.
Unfortunately, our pets often do not have a very discerning pallet and will eat items that cannot pass through the gastrointestinal tract. Impactions caused by these “dietary indiscretions” can be life threatening and very painful.
Our doctors can use digital X-ray, and ultrasound technology to see what has caused the impaction and how to best deal with the problem. If the object must be removed, we can often use endoscopic surgical techniques to remove the foreign body with minimally invasive surgery. This results in shorter recovery time, less pain, and less expense.
Cancer is one of the most common diagnoses for pets. Cancer is one of the leading health issues for both dogs and cats but current medical advancements allow us to treat many of these patients successfully. Often we can achieve an excellent outcome with a good quality of life for your pet for many years to come.
